A Little Less of Yourself, Please.
While the world population hit 7 billion yesterday, 1 billion still struggle for access to basic human needs.
Clean water. Food. Shelter. Medicine.
Yet, you have the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, who reportedly spent $10million on a lavish wedding, for a marriage that lasted for apparently 72 days.
Not only did they take a piss on the sanctity of a wedding and a marriage, they wasted a good amount of money that could’ve saved lives. Lives that depended on it.
Some are saying, their wedding was all a PR stunt. What were they actually trying to publicize, I do not know.
I do know this though. Human excess needs to stop.
Maybe, just maybe, if the world is more focussed on giving, rather than taking, this world we’re currently living in, and the landscape that we are surrounded with, might just be a little bit different.
Dare I say, better?
